BIOGRAPHY

My passion for art goes back to my childhood where I would often sketch and colour and create, the escapism was something i craved and found totally consuming from a young age.  My Inspiration comes from life, family, friends my surroundings, Brighton being a constant source as were numerous travels and presently Cyprus . I have had several artist crushes since my love affair with art begun, my sister and brothers from who I learnt a great deal, I then discovered The Great artists such as Renoir, Rothko, Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, Jack Vetriano, Banksy and many others.

My artistic journey started with painting murals in 1990 after the birth of my son, firstly in children’s bedrooms, then kitchen’s living rooms also in Bars and Health Clubs. I started creating different crafts, painted pots ... my son loved to do this too and we would often sit on Brighton beach and sketch as he grew older, door plaques were an additional craft.  I then came to ‘up-cycling’ furniture, painting my own designs on old pieces, something I still love to do.
I attended lots of exhibitions promoting chalk board pens and went on to draw and write many boards for pubs clubs and restaurants. All of these artistic creations have been self taught.
I progressed from there into water colour paintings, on to oils and then discovered acrylics which is my main medium of choice now. I have exhibited these works in art galleries, bars, cafe’s and restaurants to great success.
Also  for a short period in Brighton I had use of a ‘pop up’ where i displayed not only my own work but other artists too.

I divide my time between Brighton and Cyprus where I am part of a collaborate website promoting Open Art Studios around the Island 'Cyprus Open Studios' art-en-route-cyprus.com.

My art is very varied, I paint in many different styles and continue to explore new ones. I currently have an Adult Colouring Book for sale which is based on my paintings.

I hope that you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
